Antonio’s intuitive instincts coupled with his belief that a hairstyle must fit the individual and their lifestyle has earned him a loyal and diverse clientele that has steadfastly followed him throughout the years. The idea that ones hair is an intrinsic component of who they are as well as an expression of their inner and outer self is a philosophy that Antonio developed as he honed and refined his skills. Antonio delivers a rare combination of expert, cutting edge skill with an eye that tailors each style to the individual’s particular hair type and facial structure to create a signature cut and look for each person.

Gilbert is such a unique master at his craft as he focuses more on the aspect of his artistry than what’s trending. He views himself as a painter and each client as a blank canvas that he enhances to a masterpiece. With over 30 years of experience, he amazingly relays his skills and knowledge to customize an experience and desired results toward everyone that has the privilege of sitting in his chair. With his drive and passion combined, it is inevitable that each client not only has the spotlight but will leave the salon feeling uplifted and happy like everyone deserves. As a stylist of the decades, you can jump back in time to a 70’s blowout, 90’s layers or stay current with a modern bob, shaggy cuts, and the current trends. Shannon already had over 3 years of working behind the chair under her belt before she made it official in 2021 by receiving her cosmetology license. In between that those years she furthered her skill set and service quality with attaining a refined training in health, barbicide sanitation and covid-19 protocols to implement into her practices and services for her valued clients. She also became a qualified extension specialist with experience in a variety of extension methods such as wefts, tape-ins and more! Her recognition went into full swing with her work on tv commercials and countless weddings/events. With over 5 years of collective experience now, her skills transcend into any services you book with her. With her additional background in Reiki practices you can trust that your experience will be in very intentional hands and care. To further commend our Shannon, we must also highlight that she is the only one in the salon that can wax any of those unwanted hairs (face/brows/lips) while you’re at it! Shannon is truly one of a kind!

Our very own Bellami Certified Master Extension Stylist is highly experienced with many extension methods and always exudes talent when she skillfully adds the length and volume that her clients desire. In addition to her array of artistic creativity, she specializes in the most amazing melted hair coloring with a focus on balayage and blonding. Jasmin’s drive is never ending as she challenges herself with an ongoing commitment to advance her education with an emphasis on her passion that grows with each satisfied client. Carlos graduated from the Paul Mitchell Academy in 2003 and has since added varying knowledge to his arsenal of creativity and styling over the years. Being a native of Redondo Beach, California, he found himself back in the area assisting celebrity hair stylist Katsumi Kasai in Manhattan Beach which further propelled his passion and desire to expand his experience. He migrated around salons all across the Riviera Village to obtain new techniques and eventually found himself a home here at Sutra Salon while also becoming an independent stylist over a year ago. To best serve his clientele, he continues to update his skills with the latest hair trends to add to the classic looks that he will always take the time to perfect for each one of his loyal clients.

With Marcela’s background of owning a barber shop for over 8 years, you can trust that her skills are top notch! With the volume of clients that come in, Sandra is an integral part of the stylist’s time management and functionality. There is a lot of “behind the scenes” work that is very much underrated. Sandra makes it possible to allow multiple client’s to be serviced at one time as she assists the stylists by prepping, washing and maybe even laying a mean base color. Her humble character permeates the salon’s ambience and feeds into her intentionality around the salon. It just wouldn’t be the same without Sandra!
Jackie lives by the motto that “if you love what you do you will never have to work a day in your life”. It’s evident that Jackie is in love with her profession as she always translates over 30 years of experience, creativity, and talent in the beauty industry to each one of her happy clients. She brings professionalism and artistry to every hair service that she performs whether she’s cutting, coloring, or styling your hair. She is very cultivated in the industry and her specialties include but are not limited to coloring, balayage, keratin treatments and so much more! Jackie is also fluent in Spanish and will make you feel right at home in her chair every time!

As one of the salon’s newest additions, it’s as if Michaela has been here for a long time already! She’s a natural at making sure that the salon is properly tended to while extending her knowledge in the hair industry as she trains to become a stylist herself. She is a fast learner and adds so much spunk to the environment. You can currently catch her floating around the stylists or washing hair in preparation for hair services. We’re excited to see where her passions take her and are super happy that she’s a part of our family!
As a fellow salon newbie, Sofia contributes to the salon’s functionality and communication as a coordinator. Whether she is handling correspondences or the many different facets of the salon’s needs, you can always trust that things are being taken care of with Sofia and Michaela’s teamwork. While she has plans to extend her knowledge and skills with hair, she is currently focusing on her passion as the salon’s makeup artist. With over 14 years of experience applying makeup on clients over the years, you can catch her completing any hair services with a touchup or full makeup applications. Sofia is a huge proponent of a “one stop shop” and loves that you can have all your needs met in one location. Not much beats the thrill a client feels when the chair is turned, and they can look in the mirror at their final makeover. That satisfaction fuels Sofia’s drive to make sure everyone has an opportunity to feel their ultimate beauty.
